We operate a full governing body structure which means all Governors attend every meeting, 10 a year, which means we all have a full and balanced view of every area of the school curriculum and school life.

Chair of Governors, Inclusion Governor and member of Finance Team
I have lived in Denmead for nearly 30 years and my children all attended schools in Denmead in the 90’s. I have worked in Schools since 1993 with an emphasis on SEND and Inclusion until taking early retirement in 2012. I have also been a member of Girlguiding UK since the age of 7 and at the moment hold a Leader management role within the Guide County of Hampshire East. I hope that my management skills and passion for Inclusion will help my role on the Governing Body.
Co-opted Governor July 2018 – 2026
Local Authority Governor September 2020 – September 2028
Vice-Chair of Governors, Head Teachers Performance Review Chair, Safeguarding.
I have lived in Denmead for 20 years and am now retired. I worked in I.T. for 30 years, mainly in Leadership and Management roles, giving me transferable skills for my role as a Governor. I joined the Governing Body as a way of giving back to my local community, but have stayed as I find the role enjoyable and rewarding. We all work for the same reason, which is to ensure our children are happy and able to make the best start to their educational journey.
Co-opted Governor May 2024 – 2028
I have been living in Denmead for just over three years with my son. Throughout my career, I have primarily worked as a Management Accountant. Currently, I hold a leadership role focused on Programme Delivery and Assurance within a government organisation. I have a broad skill set that aids me in my role as a governor, where I am the Mental Health and Wellbeing Governor and a member of the Finance Committee.
Co-opted Governor July 2020 -2028
Member of Finance Team
My family and I have lived in Denmead for over 20 years. Most of my working career has been spent in education as a business manager – in primary schools, higher and further education. I hope that my understanding of the education cycle and transferable skills in finance and planning will enable me to make a positive contribution to Denmead Infant School.
Co-opted Governor 2021 – 2025
I have lived in Denmead for nearly 30 years and I have recently retired from an IT career spanning over 40 years. Working in technical and consultancy roles both as a service provider and a customer. This includes working with many local authorities and government departments. I hope to assist the school by bringing in my private & public sector knowledge on how and why to do things in a certain way, along with my understanding of IT technologies.
With my retirement, I now have time on my hands to give back to the community and wanted to assist the local school, which my daughter went to, many years ago.
Co-opted Governor, January 2024-2028
I have lived in Denmead for 35 years and retired from working at Denmead Infant school after 22 years. My own children attended the school, and I have always been proud to be part of the school and play an active role in supporting the children in our local community. I am looking forward to being able to use that experience to help support the strategic direction of the school, ensuring our children receive the best possible education while at Denmead.
Co-opted Governor, April 2025 – 2029
Parent Governor, November 2025 – 2029
Co-opted Governor November 2025 – 2029
As a Denmead resident and former student of Denmead Infant School, I bring a personal connection to the board. I’m a Chartered Accountant, having trained at EY LLP and currently work in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) for the global publisher Wiley. My background provides me with deep financial expertise in budget oversight, risk management, and strategic planning. My governance experience includes serving as a current trustee and treasurer for Anaphylaxis UK and trustee for The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre in Havant. Locally, I support youth development as a volunteer Squirrel Leader (“River”) with Denmead Scouts. With my son now attending the school, I am deeply invested in ensuring we manage resources effectively to deliver at the highest educational standards.
Parent Governor April 2025 – 2029
I live in Denmead and both of my daughters have thrived during their time at Denmead Infant School, one is currently in Year 1. My enthusiasm to volunteer for the role of parent governor derived from my passion for education and child development. I was an experienced primary school teacher and I understand the crucial role school plays in nurturing, inspiring and teaching children to be the best version of themselves. I now work in military education, managing training transformation, this enables me to bring a different perspective on education. The school has ignited curiosity and excitement for learning in both of my children, it is wonderful to see this continue for all children whilst being a part of the governing body.
